Grove Cranes

Grove cranes fall under the umbrella of the prestigious Manitowoc crane family. The Grove company was founded in 1947 and steadily rose in popularity to become one of the world’s leading producers of mobile hydraulic cranes. Grove cranes are manufactured at both the company’s original manufacturing facility in Shady Grove, Pennsylvania, and at a secondary manufacturing facility located in Wilhelmshaven, Germany.

Grove cranes have become synonymous with strong, reliable lifting equipment. The company offers a full range of mobile hydraulic cranes in a wide range of sizes, including all-terrain, rough terrain, truck mounted and shuttlelift industrial cranes, from powerful yet compact YardBoss industrial cranes (designed for mobility in restricted spaces) all the way up to enormous seven axle all-terrain cranes (able to lift and shit up to 550 tons).

Grove cranes are used in a variety of applications. The company has been on the leading edge of innovation for years, and was the first to introduce a slewing rough terrain crane (brought to market in 1968) and the first ever trapezoidal boom (introduced two years later in 1970). Grove was the first international multi-facility crane manufacturer to receive the ISO 9001 quality assurance certification (bestowed in 1994) and has become one of the globe’s leading suppliers of custom-built military cranes for armed forces around the world.

To date, more than 55,000 Grove cranes have been sold globally. Many companies rely completely on Grove cranes, and will purchase hundreds of units at a time to populate entire fleets. Grove cranes have been used to help install wind turbines in Ilshofin, Germany, and Inner Mongolia, China, and to dismantle an incredibly tall chimney top in Ludwigshafen, Germany. The Grove Tower Crane (GTK) is particularly useful for jobs where space is an issue and transport is difficult.

Grove cranes have been invaluable in many countries where reliable equipment is required for mine workshops, port handling applications, refinery work and industrial construction. Truck mounted Grove cranes are invaluable for the telecommunications industry, particularly for mobile phone mast and satellite installations, and all-terrain models perform well off-road and on the highway.

Grove cranes are eligible for Manitowoc's generous financing terms, which make it possible for even small business owners to obtain high quality cranes. Grove cranes are also part of the Manitowoc Crane Care program, which ensure parts technical advice and assistance are available to crane owners 34 hours a day, 365 days a year, anywhere on the globe.
